Dining DollarsDining Dollars, Student Programs' convenient debit card dining plan, is a great option for off-campus students who prefer à la carte dining at or who want a quick snack during the day. Dining Dollars can also be used in our all-you-care-to-eat dining facilities. Dining Dollars are often beneficial for commuter students who enjoy lunch on campus or students involved in evening campus activities. Money deposited into a Dining Dollars account is accessed automatically through your Hokie Passport ID card. You can spend Dining Dollars like cash in any of Student Programs' dining centers. The Benefits of Dining DollarsDining Dollars free you from the hassle of carrying cash. You never have to wonder about your balance, because it will appear on the register display every time you access your account. Since Dining Dollars are only accepted in Student Programs dining centers, parents and guardians can be sure that this money is spent only on food and beverages. All students who make purchases with Dining Dollars will receive a 5 percent discount at the register. Please note: If you have purchased the Commuter Cash Plan, the initial $201 does not receive the 5 percent discount. Any additional Dining Dollars will receive the discount. Flex Plan holders can add dining dollars to their plans and will receive the 5 percent discount after using all of their initial Flex Dollars. Dining Dollars DepositsAll Hokie Passport ID cards have an activated Dining Dollars account. Deposits may be made at any time during the year at the Hokie Passport Office (located at 100 Student Services Building.) You can also make deposits at a cash-to-card machine, which can be found at G. Burke Johnston Student Center, the Math Emporium, Squires Student Center, the Student Services Building, West End Market, Owens Food Court, or outside of Hokie Grill & Co. You can also sign up for Dining Dollars online using an e-check, VISA or MasterCard. Dining Dollars deposits carry over from year to year and remain stored on your Hokie Passport ID card until you graduate or resign from the University (see the Dining Plan Refund Policy). |
