Last year, more than 9,000 off-campus students purchased a dining plan. Students who live off campus may choose from any of the Student Programs dining plans (including major dining plans). The following plans are specifically designed with the off-campus lifestyle in mind: Minor Flex Plan: $670/semesterThe Minor Flex Plan is a great choice for off-campus students who had a Flex Plan when they lived on campus. Our most popular off-campus plan, Minor Flex gives off-campus students the benefits of the Major Flex Plan at a lower buy-in level. With the Minor Flex Plan, a base cost of $405 covers overhead costs (mortgage, utilities, and labor). Students receive the remaining $265 in Flex Dollars to pay for food and beverages at a 50 percent discount in our à la carte facilities and at least a 67 percent discount in our all-you-care-to-eat dining centers (see Using Your Flex Dollars under Major Dining Plans). Minor Flex Plan holders are not eligible to purchase Flex Addition Dollars but may purchase Dining Dollars to extend their dining plans. Flex Addition Dollars may be purchased only by major dining plan holders. Commuter Cash Dining Plan: $201/semesterThis plan offers the flexibility of Dining Dollars and the benefits of a dining plan, even allowing you to purchase this dining plan though Budget Tuition. With this plan you receive $201 in Commuter Cash. While all purchases using this plan are tax-free, you do not receive the 5 percent discount like traditional Dining Dollars. This plan is for only the academic year in which it is purchased. You must spend the $201 Commuter Cash by the end of spring semester. Deposits into your Dining Dollars account beyond the initial $201 will carry over to the following academic year. |
