Transfer Student Housing

Virginia Tech is able to offer on-campus housing for transfer students on a rolling basis until all vacancies are filled for 2009-2010. As a transfer student, you may be considered for on-campus housing by adding your name and student ID number to the transfer housing wait list.

The Housing Office will contact students on this list via their Virginia Tech e-mail account to offer housing contracts according to availability. Students can sign up on the list prior to confirming their admittance to the university, but will not be eligible for a housing contract offer until they have 1) officially accepted the offer of admission to Virginia Tech and 2) paid the $400 matriculation fee.

Off-Campus Housing Options

A variety of off-campus apartment complexes offer special housing for graduate students and their families.

If you would like assistance with finding off-campus housing, you may wish to contact the Off-campus Housing Office, located in 121 Squires Student Center, (540) 231-3466. This office is an excellent resource of off-campus housing information as well as a great way to meet other individuals looking to share off-campus living spaces.

Dining Options

The dining facilities are conveniently located near the residence halls. All on-campus residents are required to purchase a major dining plan.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a housing contract, a student must be admitted by the university, pay the $400 matriculation fee, and be enrolled as a full-time student for 2009-2010 academic year. Eligible students are offered housing concurrent with the start of an academic year until all vacancies have been filled.
