Student Programs Offers Affordable Lodging for Commencement

BLACKSBURG, VA, Feb. 1, 2006—Student Programs’ Conference and Guest Services will once again provide lodging in Virginia Tech residence halls for families and guests of graduates during commencement weekend.

Staying on campus in a traditional residence hall is a convenient and affordable solution to typical commencement weekend problems like limited lodging space, high meal prices and hotel rates, and parking difficulties. For guests in campus residence halls, parking is close by, commencement ceremonies are within walking distance, there are no long waits for dining, and seating everyone in your party is not a problem. It also provides a memorable and often nostalgic experience for parents and guests.

The commencement lodging package includes a two-night stay in a single- or double- occupancy room, a special commencement dinner Friday May, 12, and breakfast Saturday, May 13. Children under 18 may stay in a parent’s room for free.

Meals will be held in D2, Tech’s national award-winning all-you-care-to-eat dining facility. Graduating seniors who live on campus and children under six eat for free, and additional meals may be purchased for older children and guests who are not staying on campus.

Visit www.studentprograms.vt.edu/commencement to make reservations or find more information about the commencement lodging program.
