Registration for Hokie Camp 2009 now open for incoming freshmen. All incoming freshmen are invited to register for Hokie Camp. Due to the success of Hokie Camp 2008, there will be three sessions offered for summer 2009: August 10-12, August 12-14, and August 17-19, 2009. The cost for Hokie Camp 2009 is $195, which covers travel from Virginia Tech to Smith Mountain Lake, food and lodging, and a Hokie Camp t-shirt.
Hokie Camp is an optional three-day orientation experience that will take place at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center. It is designed to welcome new Hokies to Virginia Tech with the purpose of giving them an opportunity to have fun, make friends and learn more about life as a Virginia Tech student.
Campers will be given the opportunity to build strong, lasting bonds with their peers through small group discussions and fun, team-building activities such as the low ropes course and rock climbing wall. Faculty and staff members will be available to answer any last-minute questions and students will leave feeling confident about their next four years at Virginia Tech.
