Theme Housing Application Process

Thank you for your interest in applying to a theme housing program at Virginia Tech. Below you will find general information about applying to our various theme housing programs. You may also like to view our frequently asked questions before applying.

2009-2010 Theme Housing Application Process

In order to apply for a theme housing program, you must have a working e-mail address. We will use this address to communicate with you in the future regarding the application process. It is imperative that you check your e-mail on a regular basis for the status of your application. Occasionally, e-mails from the application server may be filtered to your junk-mail folders. Therefore, be sure to check these mail folders in addition to your in-box.

Applications must be submitted by May 1 to receive priority consideration.

All theme programs, except the Residential Leadership Community (RLC), Hypatia and Galileo are still accepting applications.

Students New to Virginia Tech:

Programs for which new students to Virginia Tech can apply to are: The Biological and Life Sciences Community, Residential Leadership Community, the WELL, Wing, World, Galileo: The Engineering Learning Community for Men, Hypatia: Women in Engineering Learning Community, or MOSAIC (Multicultural Opportunity and Social Awareness Interest Community). Make sure you indicate your interest by checking the box on your Housing and Dining Contract to let us know you have applied to a theme housing program and that you understand the statement regarding roommates. You can apply online for any of these programs on our secure server. The application process for new students will begin on December 15. Please do not submit an application before this date.

Current Virginia Tech Students:

The programs that current Virginia Tech Students may apply to are the World or the WELL as returning students or new applicants, and MOSAIC as a returning student only. All other programs are for first-year students.The application process for W.E.L.L., WORLD, and MOSAIC for current Virginia Tech students will run through December 15. To receive priority consideration for MOSAIC you must apply by January 15. To begin the application process, please click “Learn more about the application process” below. Students currently participating in MOSAIC who are interested in applying for 2009-2010 must e-mail their full name and student ID number to Ray Plaza at rp25@vt.edu. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact James Penven, associate director for Residence Life, at jpenven@vt.edu.

This program is for returning students who are members of one of the Greek organizations housed on campus.

Hillcrest and Main Campbell Honors Community
This program is by invitation only.
