Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets
Representing more than 135 years of tradition at Virginia Tech, The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets offers a progressive leadership development program. The corps' structured lifestyle emphasizes academic achievement, leadership training, and personal growth. The corps provides professional tutors in several different subject areas and strictly enforces quiet hours specifically for studying. In addition, students experience the small college atmosphere that pervades the corps while reaping all the benefits that come from attending a major university.
The corps is open to both men and women regardless of major and does not require any military obligation after college. Students are housed all four years in dedicated alcohol-free cadet residence halls. Students are encouraged to join one of the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) programs on campus. Students in the corps with previous band experience are eligible to join the award-winning Regimental Band, the Highty-Tighties. Cadets also have the opportunity to earn an academic minor in Leadership Studies upon graduation. |
