Deet's Place

Deet's Place is Virginia Tech's premier coffee, ice cream, and pastry shop. Here you may choose to indulge in tempting treats, such as Edy's ice cream or one of our many types of coffees while studying or catching up with a friend. Live entertainment is also provided throughout the semester for your enjoyment. Deet's roasts its own coffee beans and holds a Golden Cup certification from the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

You can also buy beans in bulk to take home and brew yourself. Along with standard coffee choices, Deet's offers many varieties of specialty espresso drinks, such as hot or iced cappuccinos, lattes, and mochas. Students can also enjoy many varieties of herbal and regular teas, including the popular Chai and bubble teas.

Included on the menu at Deet's are delicious Edy's ice cream and sherbet in a variety of flavors available in cones, cups, sundaes, and shakes. If you are hungry, try a bowl of soup served in a bread bowl, a chef salad, a sandwich, or bagel chips with sun-dried tomato dip. Also available are delicious muffins, turnovers, bagels, cakes, pies, cookies, and fruit bowls.

New! Organic Menu Items

We are proud to announce these new organic additions to our menu:

-Deet’s organic salad: a crisp spring mix with cucumbers, carrots, mushrooms, snap beans, red onion, and grape tomatoes

-Deet’s organic salad with chicken: our organic salad topped with a grilled, seasoned, all-natural chicken breast

-Organic veggie bowl: a healthy bowl of fresh baby carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, and cherry tomatoes

-Organic hummus and bagel chips: a bowl of our organic hummus served with slices of cucumber, red pepper, and organic bagel chips

-Organic veggie wrap: our organic hummus recipe wrapped in a tortilla with tabbouleh, spring mix, and shredded carrots

-Whole-wheat and “everything” whole-wheat organic bagels

-Organic apples and oranges

Location

Located in the lower level of Dietrick Dining Center, between Ambler-Johnston and Pritchard Halls, facing Washington Street. The entrance is to the left side of the building next to Dietrick General Store.
